Recently, two manufacturing companies in the concrete industry came together to demonstrate a new decorative, polishable, cementitious overlay for new and existing concrete surfaces and unique applications.
The proven construction solutions manufacturer LATICRETE International and the surface treatment, planetary machinery and diamond tool manufacturer SASE Company held a training seminar at the LATICRETE plant in West Palm Beach, Florida. In the concrete industry, this training is no exception.
LATICRETE International recently acquired L&M Construction Chemicals, formerly located in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to the full range of construction chemicals, the L&M product line also provides a decorative, exposed aggregate, and polishable coating called Durafloor TGA. According to Eric Pucilowski, Director of Specialty Products, “Durafloor TGA is a multifunctional decorative covering for new and existing concrete surfaces. We found that this product is currently lacking in the industry, a unique, The exposed aggregate surface layer is similar in appearance and function to traditional concrete.”
Durafloor TGA is a unique cement, polymer, color and mineral aggregate mixture suitable for new and existing concrete surfaces. The top combines the durability of concrete with color and decorative aggregate to produce a high-performance floor with long-lasting beauty. The product can be installed in commercial lobbies, institutional floors, shopping malls and schools.
Pucilowski and his team contacted SASE two months ago to test and understand Durafloor TGA. The product was initially introduced to Marcus Turek, National Sales Manager of SASE Company, and Joe Reardon, Director of SASE Signature Floor Systems. According to Turek, “We sampled Durafloor TGA at the Seattle plant and found that it was the closest covering layer to existing concrete.” During the demonstration, SASE’s task was to successfully grind and polish LATICRETE for the success that LATICRETE was looking for Produce multiple systems.
In order to educate the industry on Durafloor TGA, LATICRETE and SASE focus on training operators, sales staff and distribution. On March 10th, the training was held at the LATICRETE plant in West Palm Beach, Florida, and about 55 people participated. More training courses are planned in the future.
According to Joe Reardon, Director of SASE Signature, “Once we saw the product and how it works, we knew we had what the industry had been looking for: a decorative cement overlay that functions and functions similarly to traditional concrete. .” SASE honed in the process, letting the attendees understand the durability and appearance displayed by Durafloor TGA.
