Norwegian rock artist Bokassa, sometimes referred to as Stoner rock or hardcore punk in sound, produces a heavy music that combines many different styles of guitar music elements.
With the release of their new album, Molotov Rocktail, on Friday (September 3), Loudwire asked the group to share some essential rock and metal albums that they believe are a blend of different genres.
Bokassa lead singer and guitarist Jørn Kaarstad agreed and planned a trip to determine the advantages of Limp Bizkit’s chocolate starfish and hot dog flavored water, and praised the cross-appeal of DRI’s Thrash Zone. There are many other stops along the way.
On Wednesday (September 1), two days before the release of Molotov Rocktail, Bokassa shared the latest single from their album, the cut rock song “Hereticules”, and the music video of the track.
“‘Hereticules’ is one of our favorite songs on the record,” said the band. “From hardcore punk preludes, muddy lead singer improvisations, exaggerated horns and chorus-filled rock choruses to punitive metal crash endings, It’s all very nice. The listener’s journey. Such a weird genre fusion song deserves a weird video with carefully choreographed dance moves. This is what it gets!”
